I ran/walked for an hour yesterday and it was awful. It was very very windy and I nearly lost my cap three times, but I didn't feel too good in myself either. I literally coughed for the whole hour which got right on my nerves. Hills in the wind made my breathing even worse, so I was glad when I got home. I found myself thinking that if The Wall is like this next week I'll be in trouble! My knee was a teeny bit niggly, but it has been like that all along and doesn't bother me too much.
I have had a recommendation from William and Shaun on a new stretching technique called the Ming Method. I had to buy the book, but at £5 it was cheap enough. Because I get bursitis so much, I hoped this would be something that would help. On reading the tetimonials etc, I was instantly hooked and read the first couple of chapters. I haven't read any more yet, but I don't need to, as the first 10 days is all about hydration. I have to drink ... (wait for it)... THREE LITRES of water a day. I probably drink that in coffee and lemon tea, but three litres is a lot of water drinking. It also recommends the use of fish oil (or in my case, a vegan alternative I have found is Flaxseed oil) and a systemic enzyme supplement.
The write ups were so good about it (and the fact William had more or less endorsed it) that I instantly thought how much it could help Graeme with his groin injury. I bought 2 Brita filter jugs and the recommended capsules, and we started it all today.
Now, apparently the first few days are the hardest while getting used to so much water but eventually, it says you crave a glass of water. At the moment I can't imagine that! It's 1.15pm and so far I've had only 2.25 pints of the stuff and I'm sick to death of it. So, that means by the end of the day I have to consume a further 3.75 pints!!! I didn't need to wonder how Graeme was getting on as he sent me an email at 11am entitled "RACEHORSE". The email simply said, "I'm pissing like a racehorse" and unfortunately, I can totally sympathise!
