Last day for running

I went out for my last run before race day today... 30 minutes at around 7am. It was very bright and sunny and quite hot. Running in it reminded me of running in Marrakech for some reason, but nowhere near as bad! I ran to how I felt again, as my Garmin was coming up with some weird and wonderful figures. It looked like I was running 11.30mm pace but the run ended up averaging 10:25, and that included the walk breaks!! I have to admit that having no time target in mind for the marathon is quite liberating.

So, that's it, it's all easy rest and chilling out from now on. I'm going to spend the next 72 hours making sure I'm properly hydrated. This is often something I leave by the wayside and end up dehydrated and in cramp.

There are a lot more runners around today, and people are starting to ask if you're here for the marathon. A few locals were telling us yesterday that it's always humid in the Cayman Islands. I honestly thought we were coming to a dry heat, but there you go!
