A running island

It pretty much doesn't matter what time you are out and about in Cayman, there are always a lot of people out running. You see them when you're sunbathing as they run barefoot along the beach in the heat of the midday sun, you see them running on an evening as you're on your way out for a meal and you see runners later on as you're on your way back from your restaurant. It's quite the island for runners!

This morning I got up at 5:30am for my 30 minute run/walk, and the streets were already full of runners of all ages and all abilities. I saw somebody bare chested apart from a heart rate monitor running like the wind and I saw an oldish bloke trudging along slowly as I was on my walk break. A couple running towards me both had flashing red lights on their shoulders to warn traffic of their whereabouts and everybody (and I mean everybody) said hello.

The run for me went very well. It felt more like my third day running in the heat, so the super compensation thing must have worked a treat. I couldn't see my Garmin to try and stick to a certain pace so I ran to how I felt. To be honest, I'll probably do this on the day anyway.

This afternoon we went to Stingray City and swam with the stingrays. It was an amazing experience and one I shall not forget. We have found a vegan restaurant here too, called Agua. We are off there tomorrow night as tonight is curry night!
It's beautiful here... I don't think we will want to go home!
