I expected the aching to get worse as the day went on but it actually went away completely. I spoke to Graeme about how I don't seem to suffer from DOMS at all and how were they for him? I was very surprised to hear him say he still suffers quite badly with them. That's the theory about our diet improving recovery time out of the window... well, at least for him!
This afternoon after work I did a 30 minute run/walk. I did consider upping it to 45 minutes but then thought better of it as this is my first 2 days running in a row after the ankle issues. It went well but I couldn't seem to get into my stride at all and felt a bit awkward as I ran along. I still enjoyed it though and was pleased to have a pain free run.
After tea I did my core session and again pushed a little more than normal, however I attempted the airborne running after push throughs and had nothing left in my upper body for the airborne running. I'll switch them around again (as I always used to!).
For the past 6 or 7 weeks I have weighed 9 stone 5. I had got down to 9 stone when I wasn't training and as soon as I started again the weight went up very quickly. I'm not eating more than usual and I'm not eating unhealthily so I have no idea why my weight has jumped straight back up. I keep getting told that old adage, "Muscle weighs more than fat" but I once saw on The Biggest Loser one of the trainers (Gillian) say it was an excuse for the contestants when they had a low weight losing week. Of course, I'm at more or less my ideal weight so it may be different if you've more weight to lose? I don't know. I don't feel bad about myself or anything though so it doesn't really matter, and this morning when I got dressed, I pulled my suit trousers on and when I went to fasten them I realised I'd put them on already zipped and buttoned up. Maybe it's muscle after all? I admit, I find it quite puzzling!
