Call me superstitious

Well, call me superstitious, but my profile picture on Facebook (since I completed the Bangalore Ultra) has been me lying down practically dying at the end. At the time I thought this was a very funny picture and have had many a 'cool' comment from lots of people about it. Now, I see it as a bad luck thing... ever since I put it up there I've been injured! So... I changed my Facebook profile picture to one of me running the very same race instead. I saw a comment at a work conference this weekend that said, "If you think you can't, or you think that you can... You are probably right!"

Yesterday I did a full hour on a rowing machine. I was so pleased with myself to get over 10.5KM, but what I didn't realise was that I had chaffing so bad that I wouldn't be able to sit down properly for the rest of the day. Fortunately, it's a lot better today.

So, today I did another 30 minutes run/walk, and my ankle didn't bother me at all. I also did my weights session, but was careful any weight bearing was minimalised. The important thing is I have forgotten to take my ibuprofen all day. That's normally a good sign. All hail the physio Tim... he is one clever bloke!

And I've been worried about my brother-in-law, Paul. I know I jibe about how he has to be the best at whatever he tries, but I found out today that everyone at work is worried about him. He has lost loads of weight in a very short amount of time, looks ill, has been ill, and apparently is eating everything from frozen packets... even to the point of frozen vegetables zapped in a microwave. Last week he was given 2 meals I had cooked (chilli and a tagine), but even Graeme says he looks ill. Today we made a load of meals to freeze and I suggested Graeme should take a few for Paul, but he said he needs to learn how to fend for himself and it's pure laziness why he won't cook his own food. I'm genuinely worried... if I hadn't become vegan then Graeme wouldn't have. If Graeme hadn't become vegan then Paul wouldn't have... But cooking everything from packets isn't healthy, and I hope he changes his ways. One thing I did change for him was his recovery drink. It was all wrong and now he has bought the stuff he needs. As much as he can be annoying when he thinks he's doing everything right, I would hate to see him doing anything wrong!
