It's not just about me!

Yesterday I did another run... this time 45 minutes on a 6:3 run/walk. It went well and I'm trying to get into my head that the last part of training on each session I should push a little harder and get used to feeling a certain level of pain. The last 6 minute run was tough and I was knackered.

Today I chose not to run, simply because I have ran for the last 3 days in a row and even when training is at it's peak, I never run for 4 days in a row. I did my squats (albeit an easier session) and I finished off with my upper body weights. Over the past year I have, to a certain degree, 'gone through the motions' with upper body weights... possibly because it was pretty much all I could do and I became very bored with it all. I have started to work harder at these and have upped the weight slightly. Afterwards I came downstairs and my arms were aching and shaking so much I couldn't lift the tagine I'd been cooking out of the oven!

But, as the title of the blog says... It's not just about me today. I can't believe how well Graemes' training is going, so much so, I had to mention it here. He's doing absolutely amazing and getting so so fast. Today was an interval session for him and he did his mile intervals at 7.20mm pace. I was so proud of him (and maybe a little jealous...lol). No, seriously, he is going to literally kill it at the Cayman Islands Marathon... he'll probably be pissed on rum cocktails by the time I get to the finish line. :-)
