The DOMS holiday

The DOMS holiday is officially over! Yesterday I casually jogged across the road and felt the most achy tired legs I've felt in a while. Every time I move I ache and today it feels just as bad. Ironically, doing less weight but more reps for squats has made me far more achy than doing high weight and low reps!

I did my session today which was 30 minutes of step wearing 10.5KG of chainmail. The last 8 minutes were really tiring and when I finally got in the bath I felt like I'd ran a really long way I was so achy. I feel good though, at the same time. Graeme commented last night that my arms look really toned, and today I noticed my stomach does too, so it's all good. I haven't weighed myself.... can't see the point!

I was at a meeting today and one of my colleagues (who is quite sporty and does a lot of cycling) gave me a lecture on how I need to eat meat to run and my lack of protein was very unhealthy. After correcting him on the amount of protein I eat compared to a meat eater, I noticed he had switched off to what I was saying, so I just smiled and walked away. It's funny how the people who preach on vegetarian and vegan diets are almost always carnivores. I wouldn't dream of slagging off somebodies choices about food just because it isn't my 'cup of tea'. C'est la vie I suppose!
