Yesterday I went back to a 6.5 inch step for a 30 minute step session after getting an email from William and Shaun telling me I really need to take it easy (especially for the next couple of weeks). I was glad to get the email as it reinforced the "carefully carefully" approach and stopped me feeling guilty about not doing more. The 30 minutes was a bit of a drag because I felt no exertion at all during the whole time, although I did sweat quite a bit, which surprised me!
Afterwards I did 100 squats using only the bar for weight (15KG) and although a bit tiring, I managed them fine. My foot was feeling good too.
After going to the cinema last night I had an email with a new training programme to get me through the foreseeable future. It was great... an actual "you do this on that day, and that on that day but not on that day and you will do it for that long..." I LOVE stuff like that. I'm a bit of an organised 'list' sort of girl, and I like it all wrote out in black and white being told what I'm supposed to do on each day. I don't like to do the sort of "Oh, well you could try that, or if you didn't want to try that on that day you could have a go at something else"... it's too vague! Maybe it all stems back to my years of being in the Navy, and me working at my best when I have a strict schedule? I don't know!
And today my foot is........... BRILLIANT This is the first day for a very long time that it doesn't even feel injured at all. It has made me consider that deep water running may be setting it back. Maybe the pressure of the water on my foot is causing a bit of agro! So, we shall see... I will avoid that exercise and do other cardio for the next few days and see if the recent improvement in my foot continues. It's all looking good! :-)
