Easter illness

Well, the meal went off great on Friday night and everyone enjoyed my vegan offerings. The tikka masala was nice enough for my sister in law to take the remnants home and eat for breakfast the following day, my brother in law couldn't leave the Thai green curry alone and ate stacks of it whilst everyone else moaned that there wasn't enough of it left and my mam ate most of the pretendy spaghetti bolognese as she thought it was lovely.

As nice a night as it was, I was pleased when everyone left as I was beginning to feel really ill. A cold had been lurking since Wednesday and by Friday evening I couldn't breathe. I, of course, ignored it... Like most women do ;-) and carried on regardless. I carried on working, carried on training (more about that later) and got on with everything as normal until Sunday when my body couldn't take any more and I was reduced to a shivering snivelling wreck on the sofa wrapped in my sons duvet and pillow, sleeping through "The Mummy" which was showing on the TV.

It's now Tuesday and I'm still not right. I'm a lot better, but trying to battle through it has done me no favours. Graeme had the right idea going straight to bed and sweating it out.

As for training, well... It WAS going well until I couldn't lift an arm up (let alone a weight). I have a new exercise called 'Glute-ham raise'. It is definitely the hardest exercise I have ever attempted and I'm totally rubbish at it. I did 3 sets of 5 reps and my upper body was in agony the following day!
My weight has stabilised now at 9 stone 5, which is great. I know this is the correct amount to eat whilst not training much.

As for my foot, well, it's definitely a lot better. I've progressed to the point of being able to massage the tender area without it hurting and I'm due to see the podiatrist on Friday to see what he thinks.
