Inquisitive

The boot wearing is going well. My foot feels very comfortable most of the time. I had a wibble moment today when I felt like things would never be better, but there is a long road of recovery ahead.

I've had a hungry day today too. I started off with pitta and houmous for breakfast, quickly followed by a soya cherry yoghurt and an apple. An hour later I had a Naked bar (which was lovely) and then I went to my mams for dinner. It was quite an inquisitive day with lots of questions on veganism. They weren't derogatory by any means, more of a genuine intrigue. My mam admitted that the day she had heard I had gone vegetarian she had told my dad it was only a matter of time before that changed to vegan. She said she wished she had had a £100 bet on it. Well, she was more clued up than me, as I hadn't seen it coming at all. She told me she had talked to a mutual friend about it (who is vegetarian to the point of not eating meat but still has gelatine/lard etc). Again she reiterated that I never do something half hearted and always go the extreme, but today it was a compliment, unlike a month ago when she was quite scathing about the whole thing. I think she admires that other people's opinions do not change my mind.

My dad asked me loads of stuff today too. He said if we were meant to be vegetarian we would have 4 stomachs like a cow. I could see the reasoning and agreed but added that I'm not doing this for my health. He shrugged in a more or less "fair enough" sort of way.

I got home to see a link I had posted about fois gras had been commented on by Graeme. He said it was absolutely disgusting and it made him mad. I was surprised as he normally eats it. When he came home from work he said it had sickened him. I told him that had he looked into some of the stuff I have he'd end up vegan, to which he replied, "Well, I'm practically vegan now anyway". I have to say, he kept putting things back on the shelf yesterday at the supermarket because they weren't vegan. I thought he was looking for stuff for me though, so didn't think too much of it.

I did some weights today. I'm starting to feel really crappy because of the lack of exercise.

  1. Nakd products are lovely, aren't they? They do a Trek range which have extra protein etc to make them suitable for sports refuelling. Cocoa Brownie is ace!
