Steady progress

Yesterday I chose my easiest running route by way of hills (even though this still has two hills and one long incline) and decided to try and run the whole way without any walk breaks in the hour. It was a bit breezy but apart from the last steepish hill and the last long incline I didn't really get out of breath at all so I was very pleased. I haven't ran outside for that long without walking for a considerable time due to practicing 15:5 run/walk for so many months.

Today was interval day, and I went up to a 9.14mm pace for those and again, managed fairly well... Only finding the last 5 minutes of the last interval a bit tough. I'd probably be feeling quite good about myself... that is, if I didn't feel like a little fat budda at the moment. I have that horrible "double boobage" thing going on and it is very unattractive and unappealing! I keep telling myself I'm lucky and I know I'll lose it quickly, but I literally feel too big for my skin at the moment. It's amazing how awful 8lbs extra feels!

Anyway, onto better things... William sent me an email yesterday asking a question before they make changes to my training programme. They think a 24 hour race is advisable this year as it will "stretch me" (no shit!!!) and they think I'll enjoy it, and how did I feel about doing one? I was surprised they thought I was ready for that, but there again, I suppose The Wall is going to take the best part of 24 hours to complete. So... I wonder when they're going to fit that little gem in! I'm actually quite looking forward to the prospect. :-)
