I woke up this morning to see a post on Facebook from Shaun and William about a 24 hour challenge in Kent. Immediately I wondered if this was the one they had in mind for me (as they'd emailed yesterday to say they would have a look for a 24 hour race that wasn't track based). I looked at the date... 5 weeks before The Wall. I'd also mentioned to Graeme yesterday (partly in jest) that one of these days they are going to get me to race fairly close to a biggie target race in order to stop me having practically a whole month off running like I currently do.
Sure enough I got the email from William asking what I thought about the same race, and as I'd already had a good look at it all I was able to say I thought it was a good idea straight away. It's done on a 6.55 mile loop and described as "safe but not what you would call easy". I suppose with farm tracks and rutted roads it's quite possible it will be somewhat similar to that of Bangalore Ultra terrain. I best get some decent training done, eh?
