Todays' training started with 30 minutes step using the 3KG dumbbells. I found it much easier than last week and managed the full time holding the weights but it was a slower cadence. I was absolutely knackered by the end (to the point I was literally shaking and my whole body felt like jelly). As my recovery drink didn't come through the post yesterday... or today, I resorted to a pint of semi skimmed milk and half a packet of roasted peanuts. Not exactly food of the Gods, but it'll do!
After an hours break, I tackled the core session. Those neck raises don't half ache and then I went straight into the back bridge exercise. Again I didn't use the Swiss ball but today I was brave enough to take my hands away too. To my amazement I was fine, although towards the end of each 30 seconds I couldn't half feel the back of neck aching. God knows how that will feel tomorrow. The Hindu push ups aren't done with the best of technique at the moment, but hopefully as I get a bit stronger this will also improve, as previously I have done these on my knees. Oh well, you have to start somewhere don't you?
My OMM backpack came today and it's lovely... very lightweight. I now need to pack it up with what I would basically have in it for the Llanelli 37 miler and The Wall, and then wear the XL vest alongside it in training. Tomorrows' run is a road run that is around 10 miles and very hilly. The first 4 miles is a bitch, so I'll be glad when that part is done.
