Spontaneous combustion

Yesterday I did a 45 minute run in a very clammy temperature. It was only 21 degrees but felt so much warmer because of the humidity. So, when it started to rain in the last mile it was like a Godsend! Getting back and looking on the Garmin website at my graph had me very pleased as I saw how consistent my pace had been throughout. I think I averaged a 10.02mm. Now I know I could not have done that a year ago in 21 degrees!
I went to see the physio for my first appointment (William and Shaun said it's a good thing to go once a month as a physio can spot an injury before it even occurs). Turns out that is exactly what happened. He had me standing with my arms in different positions (apparently there is something good about my scapula... but I can't remember what!) and then as I lay on my front he pushed and prodded the middle of my back which was really quite tender. Turns out it is a little bit tight and this was causing shortening in my hamstrings. He "worked" my back very hard... so much so that when the session was over I felt in a lot of pain. I was dreading waking up today but am pleased to report I felt fantastic and I can't even feel that he did anything at all. Excellent... next appointment in a month then!

I was unable to do my squat session last night as he said it would compress everything that he had worked on, so I was a bit gutted as I love doing the squats. Never mind... there's always next week!
Shaun sent me an email with a breakdown of what I have done with the deadlifts recently. It turns out they were a little surprised at how I had managed (I think they expected me to do sets of 6 when in actual fact I did sets of 10), so they have moved this session onwards and upwards and I get to push it a bit more this Sunday. I can't wait. :-)

Today is my rest day, so I went into the sauna. It was already very warm in the loft, so after only 16 minutes the sauna temperature had risen to 59.5 degrees. When I got this sauna it said in the instructions that it was different to other FIR saunas in that it did not overheat and therefore did not need to switch off like other models. Apparently, because FIR is not visible to the naked eye, you are not aware if it switches off. I can vouch for the fact mine does NOT switch off, as at 59.5 degrees I felt like I was going to spontaneously combust. I lasted to 19 minutes and had to get out. My skin was on fire and even my ankles were sweating!
