Today has been a day of speeding up... and not just on the running front. We had a major problem with our broadband for over a week, and after phoning about it today the speed has doubled. Apparently it will get a further 20 to 25 times faster in the next 48 hours. Excellent stuff!
And as for the running, today I did a route that I haven't done for well over a year. I always thought it to be quite tough with elevations rising 270 foot over 6 miles, and I never coped very well with it. I ran it relatively comfortably today in 58.29... 12 minutes quicker than I have ever managed before. Wow... that's like... stacks!
I'll be honest, I chose that particular route because I thought the elevation was similar to Bangalore and I thought to run it every Monday when I'm at my most tired would be good practice. Unfortunately it is around 50 foot too short, however there are plenty of alternatives I can try over the coming weeks.
And I'm having a couple of days of cross training. My foot didn't take too well to the rebounder and although just a slight niggle, it hasn't improved over the last 3 days so I shall take a step back and do something other than running for the next 2 or 3 days. I'm sure by the time Saturday comes, I'll be back feeling fine. The rebounder from now on will be done in trainers instead of barefoot. Anything that bends my toes too much isn't great for my foot for the time being. I've got on so well though, so I'm not deterred or upset that I need to take a little break for a day or so.
