This morning I got up and went to my mams house ready for her to do her first 4 mile run/walk. She managed really well and I'm amazed at how much running she is starting to do. She just needs to try and shorten the recoveries now.
I couldn't put my finger on it, but I felt a bit miserable.
I went back home and took Lincoln out for a walk across the beach banks. We walked along the beach and up steep hills and we hiked up a bank with steep steps. I think I managed better than the dog, although my legs were quite achy by the time I got to the top. As we were walking back home, Lincoln got around a corner before I did and I heard a man talking to him. I looked to see the man was out running and he looked a bit scared. I explained he was OK and it was best just to ignore him and before I could get the words out of my mouth Lincoln started to bark at the terrified runner. He asked me to get hold of him which I quickly did and apologised. I was so shocked. Don't get me wrong, he wasn't in attack mode or anything, but I know it must have been frightening for the bloke out running. It made me think that we should start taking him out where there are lots of people so strangers do not alarm him (because at the end of the day, it is Lincolns' uncertainty of someone that makes him bark). So, we shall be starting to do that straight away. He gets his longest walks at 5am with Graeme... and of course nobody is around at that ungodly hour.
When I had finished the walk I went back to my mams for dinner, and then once that was done and dusted I came back home to do my deadlifts and upper body workout. Shaun had sent me an email with details of what to do for todays session, and I was amazed to be able to do everything proposed... including a static lift of 112.5KG. The upper body stuff got done and 20 minutes in the sauna, and I had a bath and a cuddle off the dog.
I still felt miserable and as I sat watching a film, I started to have a good blub. I still don't know why I felt so down, but the cry helped and now I feel OK. Strange!
