Hills

It has just dawned on me properly today how pleased I am with yesterdays run. I used to think this run was like scaling Mount Everest, and to be honest, it really isn't very hilly at all. Let's be polite and say it's "very undulating". With only 270 feet of ascent it really isn't anything to write home about.

In fact, I looked at a number of routes in my area, and the hilliest ones are rated a category 5 on Mapmyrun website. That sounds impressive until you learn that a category 5 is actually the least steep and 1 is practically vertical! However, they also class Windermere as a 5... I think a lot of people would disagree there and think that to be rather hilly!

So, I need to find a slighly hillier route than the one I ran yesterday... it will not be a problem. The route I ran on Saturday at the crack of dawn had 554 foot ascent!

I'm really pleased with my foot today too, which feels great. I am still going to have a couple of days off running though, just to ensure it really is back to normal again. Tonight I think I will do some stepping with my weights vest on and then boil away in the sauna!
And I sleep like I'm in a coma at the moment. Today was the first time I woke up before the alarm and what a difference it makes to your day... being woken up abruptly can just make you feel over tired for the rest of the day, but this morning I feel ready to tackle the day!
