Yesterday I emailed the organisers at Bangalore Ultra to ask about water provisions. I haven't had an answer yet, but if there is not water in bottles I shall be taking my own. I also got a friend who works in a travel agents to organise my travel arrangements. We are going out to India 9 days before the race and staying in an absolutely gorgeous hotel... may as well make a great holiday out of it too... I can see I will be needing some new bikinis at some point ;-)
Today I watched two videos from William and Shaun on heat training and found them very interesting. I was surprised to hear that heat training increases blood volume. I always thought you had to do altitude training for that... bonus! The little heat tent that William uses was explained and after looking it up and emailing Graeme (who had to work today), we decided to buy one. I was amazed at the price as I had always thought something like that would cost about a grand... it was nowhere near that price thankfully. I even have a nice little place in mind in our gym that it will fit in snugly!
I expected to be very achey today after doing a max deadlift test yesterday. My previous PB was 70KG for 1 or 2 reps but yesterday I managed 6 reps at 70KG, 5 reps at 72.5KG and 1 rep at 75KG. Shaun is sending details of my next lot of weight training sessions at some point, although William is about to embark on a 6 day race in Hungary so I think he has bigger fish to fry at this present moment. I have all my fingers and toes crossed for William getting the record he is after. If anyone can do it, he can!
