It's tough... are you?

That is the tag line to an ultra that I have been looking at on the Internet for about 8 months. It's a place I really want to visit (being close to my most favourite holiday destination so far), the race is organised well and has a relatively small field.
It's an undulating 12.5K loop and quite warm (for me) at temperatures of mid 20's. There are a few distances... and I want to attempt the 75K (100K being the longest which typically only gets 1 or 2 participants per year).

I emailed William and Shaun about it and asked if they thought it would be possible with a last long run of 26.2 miles in Amsterdam a month beforehand. A few more questions asked and answered, they emailed back tonight to say that with a few priorities in place (heat training, using freeze dried food before the race, etc, etc) then it should be fine for me to do as my first ultra. (And then a sentence afterwards saying... "can't believe we have just said that!")

So, I am absolutely delighted... and I get a holiday out of it, as we have decided to go out there a week before the race. We are off to do the Bangalore ultra marathon in November... I knew there would be something positive to come out of having an injury for so long :-)
