It's only midday, and I'm hacked off with Tuesday already. Clients haven't turned up when they are supposed to, I've felt a bit queasy all morning and my foot is just straight back to square one after the run yesterday.
The pad behind the ball of my foot felt all squishy and hot and it's back to being painful to stand on. I text the podiatrist (after all, it's his day off today and so I didn't want to ring) but ended up on the phone to him anyway after he's text to say to ring when I was free to have a chat.
He had previously said I may need an xray, but today he said there was no way I could even run a step if there was a fracture there and it could still be the problem of neuritis... but, it could also be a neuroma too... which is a surgery thing. I had a "click" on my foot last time he saw me, which he said was called a Mulders click. He had said he hoped it wasn't a neuroma then (a Mulders click is present in that case).
So, I'm off to see him tomorrow night and he will maybe ask a colleague to see me too (the one who gives the cortisone injections) to ask for a second opinion.
I'm very worried about it now. With less than 8 weeks to Basel, I don't know if I will get there...
