Well, that's it... 3 weeks on the new programme done!
Tonight I managed the whole 10 minutes skipping (although it was a bit stop-start as I kept getting caught in the rope)... I think skipping completely and utterly KNACKS! My poor calves were hurting like mad, so I know I'm going to have some pain in that area over the next day or 3!
I did my interval session on the treadmill, and reached the dizzy heights of level 11 for the first 10 minute speedy stint. Now that I have a callibrated foot pod, I know that that equated to a 8.38 minute mile. That may seem feeble to most, but it is honestly (no joke here at all) the fastest I have ever ran a mile. Unfortunately, I had decided to do running recoveries this week as opposed to walking (which I did after the first interval), this coupled with the fastest I have ever ran buggered me up for the rest of the session. The second interval was started at level 10 and had to be put down to level 9 after 5 minutes. I walked the second recovery to try and regain my composure, but the 3rd interval ended up being level 10 for only 2 minutes before being put down to level 9. So, level 9 was a 10.30 minute mile, which when knackered is probably better than I normally do. Hopefully next week will be a bit better.
