Woohoo... that's 100 posts done on my blog. I always knew I could drivel on about nowt!
After yesterdays poor performance I looked at what could have gone wrong, and I think it may have been my nutrition. I don't take any sort of carbs on during my long run now (with it only being 2 hours), so I've emailed Shaun and William and asked about it. Aside from that, I'm also not eating enough of the correct foods and because my training has become much more, erm... shall we say... energetic, I need to sort that out. Yesterday I came home from the run and had a recovery drink and then a really healthy fresh salad and tuna and ate some vegetables for tea (mince dinner...mmmmm). I immediately felt more human afterwards.
I've noticed in the last fortnight that if I don't eat every 3 hours I feel a bit sick and very shaky and weak. This used to happen when I was a kid and the Doctor said it was due to having a high metabolism, so not sure if I just need to eat more often.
Today I did the same circuits as last week, this time 30 seconds each station, then 1 minute each with 10 second recoveries between station, then another minute without recoveries and a cool down of 30 seconds on each exercise. I managed much better than last week and was actually able to walk at the end of it.
My new rule about weight training is I can't do it too close to the circuit class as the circuits "seem fairly high intensity", so this afternoon I had to go back to the spa to do my 3 sets of 20 bodyweight squats and my deadlifts. I managed much better with the deadlifts today... even managing a last set of 40.6KG. Not bad for a little 'un eh?
