Another day... another run

6 miles today went off fairly unspectacularly. I had 2 or 3 twinges in my hamstring during the run, but overall it seemed to be ok. I felt totally unfit and lethargic throughout however.
I got back and immediately stretched and iced my hamstring. Not sure how it's fairing as the ice has made it a bit numb and at the moment I can't feel anything. I hope it's ok, I could do without a physio visit so close to running VLM.
I'll make that decision tomorrow.

I go to pick up the Fetch banner from Clare tomorrow, ready to take down to London. Ooohhh... the responsibility!!! I can't believe it's so close... only 12 days to go!

Last night at the spiritualist church, halfway through the healing I felt a freezing coldness on my right hand side. I then felt someone touch the back of my head. I opened my eyes and turned around to (of course) see nothing there.
When it came to the part where they asked did anyone have any experiences they wanted to share, I told everyone about this coldness (that was still there). "They want you to work", Gordon explained.
The open circle had finished and the coldness was still with me. I had been touched on the face numerous times, which others found amusing. I had been asked to try to get whoever it was to speak to me or show me something, however they didn't impart any information my way.
Maybe next time. It took me almost 2 hours to warm up once I'd got home.

I did something insane last night. I entered a competition to win a place on an ultra running team "Runfurther". The prize consists of full race kit, 4 pairs of socks, 4 pairs of trail shoes, post race clothing, a years supply of shot bloks (which I use) clif bars, elete electrolyte supplements, 4 races (which must include 1 race of between 61 and 100 miles) and all the training, coaching and advice to fast track you. They said they weren't worried about speed or experience...just the desire and motivation to do it. Well, that's me innit?
I was totally honest on the entry form though and although they did not ask for mileages or race times I gave examples of both. That will probably knock me straight out of the running. In fact, they probably had a good laugh reading my details! But you know what they say... you have to be in it to win it! :-)

  1. Wow, that's a fab prize. Takes some guts to enter a comp like that knowing that you won't back out if you win. What an experience if you do!
I hope the hamstring is getting back to normal. It sounds like you're being more than sensible with it - for a change ;-)
Really wierd - the cold sensation at the spiritualist church...I'm not sure what I make of it all - I'm not a disbeliever but I like to have proof of things before I believe them. This is the girl who wanted proof of gravitational forces in her maths class because I couldn't get my head around the formulas!!
    Pegg.

  2. Ha ha... To be honest, I'm not 100% sure of it all myself, but I have seen and heard stuff all my life so just going to see where it takes me.
And I would LOVE to win that prize, but someone way better at running than me will win it. It's nice to dream though :-)
