I felt awful on Monday and didn't do my 1 hour run and then on Tuesday the heat up in my gym was unbearable and my intervals were about as bad as you could get. It wasn't until Wednesday when I finally got my head back into gear and did a good session of squats followed by a nice meal out with Graeme.
On Thursday I did a good session of downhill running (which knackers me out as much as the uphills do) and before going to Sheffield for a meeting on Friday, I went to the gym at 6am and did 30 minutes of rowing intervals. I was dreading doing my long run/walk on Saturday and it took me a couple of hours to talk myself into going. I chose to do an easy 3:3 run/walk in my XL vest and committed myself to a 10.5 mile route. Once I was out I enjoyed it and I managed it comfortably, so I'll be upping that to 4:3 run/walk next week on a 15 mile route.
I still don't feel motivated by the fact I'm doing a marathon in 7 weeks time, and to be honest it's probably best if I ignore that fact and just think of the longer stuff I have coming up... shame that isn't until March next year though!!!
Good thing is, I feel brilliant now I'm back training properly again. Everything aches like Hell, but that's a good thing.
