I've now done 4 runs. Three of them at a 1 minute run and 1 minute walk pace, and the latest was a 2 minute run 2 minute walk. Tomorrow I'm going for 5:5. I think it should be fine as everything so far has gone pretty well. The physio told me that if my running didn't feel more natural and back to normal by the time I come back from Tunisia then I should maybe consider the second cortisone injection to get it well and truly sorted. To be honest, I don't think that will be required. I'm still running on grass but I now run with what I vaguely remember to be my normal gait and yesterdays 2:2 run/walk actually felt very natural.
Life has been zooming by of late. I only have one and a half days left in Sunderland and then that's me done and moving on to Darlington. I'm really looking forward to it, but have my holiday to look forward to first. When I get back from our holiday I'm off to the Rockcliffe Spa to join up. Graeme doesn't want to join as he feels he won't use the facilities very much due to working nowhere near it (unlike me, I'm only 4 miles away) so said he will just visit on the £35 members discount I have if ever he fancies a day out there.
We are definitley going to Grand Cayman too. I have put in my holiday form and had it approved for 10 days there and so has Graeme. When we come back from Tunisia this is something else we will be sorting out. I'm going to enter the marathon, however they allow you to switch to the half if you decide you want to, so there's no harm in entering. I'm confident I can knuckle down with my training and get sorted in time for December anyway... the first few weeks when coming back from injury are probably going to be the slowest and then my body will hopefully remember what it can do. Muscle memory... don't you just love it.
My life has completely changed over the last 2 weeks... work wise, foot wise, financially.... the only way, now, is up!!! (I HOPE!!!!)
