Obstacles

Last week it took my physio Tim less than 3 minutes to diagnose bursitis in my foot. This was great news as I know there is life after bursitis, having had it three times already. He was going to refer me to another podiatrist, however we both quickly realised that this meant another biomechanical assessment, a third opinion and even more money down the drain. My next step was contacting the MRI unit to ask for my report and take it from there!

On Saturday morning my CD and report came from the hospital, and it took me no time at all to open the images... All 200 of them!!! I emailed the report to Tim and on Sunday evening he emailed back a list of contacts of people he knows who would perform the cortisone injection for me. The one I found best was a chap who deals with sports injuries for Newcastle football club, Durham County cricket team to name a couple! So, I emailed Tim back and he said he would contact him with my history and MRI results. Incidentally, he now is absolutely certain it's bursitis! I'm now waiting to hear what the next step is.

Life is pretty hectic at the moment as I'm moving branch with work and changing from Sunderland to Darlington. This is a great move for me and I'm really looking forward to it. When I go on holiday to Tunisia I leave Sunderland and on my return I begin at my new branch. It's all very exciting. As I'm very close to the fabulous spa we went to for Graemes birthday last year (Rockcliffe Hall), I'm considering becoming a member there and training before I start work on a morning.

Unfortunately, it's not all good news. Graeme came home from Muay Thai last night with pain in his sternum. After 4 hours in A&E, they established it was chest wall damage with a possible fractured sternum to boot! He has to have 6 weeks out of training! It seems neither of us can get going this year... It's just one obstacle after another!

  1. Great news about the job, congratulations! Although what does it mean for the wonderful deli next door?! And it's great that you're finally making progress with the foot. It must be a huge relief.
So sorry to hear about Graeme though, that sounds so painful. I hope he's not too bad as a patient...

  2. He's ok actually Pegg... I think we are going to try and plan a marathon sometime around December so we both have some motivation after all of the injuries!!! How is your foot now?
Funnily enough, the bistro next door are looking at starting up in Darlington in the next year or so... Hopefully they'll do it sooner rather than later!
