It hasn't been the best of weeks when it comes to training because I've been very restricted with what I can do, so I've had to resort to weight sessions only, however on Wednesday I took my last lot of ibuprofen and I've been doing my foot exercises religiously. I've progressed from not being able to pick up a cotton wool ball with my bad foot to now being able to pick up and hold a golf ball for 20 reps. I'm icing everyday after I've had a hot bath and massaged my foot, and at the moment it feels ok but it still has a numbness which I think is still the residual feelings of so many days on ibuprofen.
I have my new Garmin ready to go, and if my foot has lost the numbness by Monday then I shall try a 1 minute run/walk for a mile and see how it goes. I can push my toe quite far back now, so I'm sure there is an improvement of sorts, as even touching my toe was agony not so long ago.
And now for the better stuff... Work has gone very well this week. I'm unable to divulge exactly what's going on as not everyone has been told yet, but what I can say is my recent depression over work has finally lifted.
The 30 day "No red wine, crisps or chips" has astounded me. It isn't over until Tuesday (where I will do all weights, measurements and analysis) but I am very aware that I have lost weight. My clothes feel great and the layer of fat I had over my muscles is disappearing by the day. I'm finding I look much more muscular and less flabby, which is always a good thing! I also feel better in myself and wake up before the alarm and sleep like a log every night.
If next week is as hopeful as I anticipate, I'll be back out in my trainers. I even look forward to how difficult it's going to be because I will finally feel challenged again!
