Yesterday I went to the gym and had a great session on the hill climber machine. I did some intervals with the harder 2 minute sections done on level 7. I was shattered by the end! I have noticed my arms and waist are feeling much trimmer and it makes me feel so much better about myself after so long of not doing much. Shame my foot isn't doing as well!!!!
Today I went for my MRI scan. It was a strange experience as I felt all the vibrations going through my foot. It was explained to me that the procedure was a bit like slicing a loaf of bread as it took images in sections (like slices) until there was a 3D picture of my forefoot. My foot was held in place very tightly and padded up with a small capsule on the part that hurts for identification purposes. I then had a sand bag over my ankle so nothing would move. It was explained I needed to keep as still as possible, and it was hard to do so for the full 20 or so minutes. At the end I felt a little unnerved as he asked was it definitely only one toe that gave me pain. It made me wonder what on earth he had seen. I knew it was pointless asking though as he wasn't allowed to tell me anything. I should have the results in a week!
This afternoon we bought a freezer as our current one is very small and we fight for space for our own food alongside that of the dogs. So, we now have a freezer for our food and one for the dog. How many dogs do you know who have their own freezer eh? It's great because it means I can now cook in bulk and save a lot of money in the process. I'm currently cutting down portion sizes too and find I really have had enough food by the end of the meal.
And my chain mail came yesterday. It's VERY heavy so I'm unsure if I can use it while my foot is still the way it is. There is a way of "secret training" which I may be able to do... I'll have to wait and see. My orthotics also came and they are no good and have to go back. Never mind, I'm sure everything will get sorted... Eventually!
