I had another early morning today, getting up 45 minutes before the alarm. I noticed that I seem to eat less than normal, and wonder if it's because the food is more nutrient dense... I don't know. When I had a lentil dahl the other night, I laughed to see it was supposed to feed 2 people at a mere 240 calories per person, so I ate the lot thinking it wouldn't be enough if I only had half. Within 15 minutes I felt so uncomfortably full that I had to lie on the sofa for nearly 2 hours. Once the feeling of being overfull had gone I felt fine but had terible wind! Not nice.
Another disgusting thing, I have always had an absolutely horrible film on my tongue. It's been there for as long as I remember and no matter what I have done in the past I have never managed to get rid of it. My tongue is also a very pale colour compared to everybody elses. Even the "You are what you eat" diet didn't change it's appearance years ago when I tried it for 4 weeks. Only 4 days into becoming vegan and my tongue looks very pink and the horrible film is going. I dread to think what other motorists thought of me today at the traffic lights as I sat looking in the mirror, with my tongue sticking out, staring in pure amazement!
I read an article yesterday about a man who turned vegan for a 30 day experiment. He did not do it on the grounds of ethics, or because of health, or any other reason other than a pure experiment on what changes would occur in his body. Within only a few days he felt amazing and at the end of the 30 days when the experiment was over, he chose to go back to an omnivore diet carefully and chose (on his first day) to hate a latte. Within an hour of drinking it, he was so ill he had to leave work and go home sick. To cut a long story short, he only tried a few foods only to decide to remain vegan in the end. I suppose it's a good advert for the health side of this, isn't it? Although that will just be an added bonus for me and my reasons.
And as for my foot, things were going really well until today when I whacked my foot on a desk leg. It hurt a bit, but not much... but now it's a bit swollen and sore. I swear to God, my feet get on my nerves! I already had an appointment at the podiatrists tomorrow anyway, so I've iced it for now. Hopefully tomorrow morning it won't feel as bad!
