I woke up again feeling very miserable today. My foot isn't right and I know I'm going to have to go back to being careful for the next few runs to make sure it's ok. Damn those bloody shoes I wore in December... Everything was brilliant until that fateful night!
Work was another write-off apart from one appointment and I spent the whole day wishing it was time to go home. Once I did get home I did a very cautious run on the treadmill. As soon as I felt the tiniest of tweaks I stopped running (this turned out to be 2 miles which was better than expected). Graeme shared one of my expedition freeze dried foods with me as I wanted to taste it to see if I liked it (but didn't want the whole thing). It was nice.
After another half hour or so I went up to do my squat session. Today is my first max lifting session from the new training I have, and as I did the full range ones I wasn't exactly chuffed with my performance. I managed the 75KG ok but going to 80 I just couldn't do it. As I squatted low enough I just couldn't get back up and the weight was saved by the powercage. Gutted! I put it behind me and after calling Graeme up to lift the bar back onto the pegs for me, he said he would stay until I was done. Partials I find pretty easy, so after previously being used to doing 10 reps on each set, moving down to 3 reps seemed a breeze! I was under strict instructions today not to go over 125KG, and I managed 2 reps at this weight which I was quite pleased with. I'm not sure how much more I could have lifted mind you... That's a challenge for another week!
