Ending on a high note

This morning I got up to a funny email from Shaun, telling me not to be so hard on myself, but commenting that there was a piece of kit glaringly missing from The Wall race... a pair of binoculars (so we can see Hadrian's' Wall during the race). It made me laugh my head off!

I went downstairs and weighed myself... 4lbs weight loss this week... FINALLY it is beginning to come off. Another 4lb and I will be back at pre Bangalore weight. I did go down to 9 stone 3 in India, but I'm more than happy to stay at 9 stone 8... it's a good weight for me! If I went any lower I wouldn't be disappointed as long as it didn't affect my training etc, but being comfortable in my clothes is more important to me... I measured myself to find I'm only half an inch bigger everywhere than normal, so I don't think that will take long to come off either.

Todays' deadlifts were never going to be easy. It's a long time since I did my PB of 85KG and post Bangalore I have only got up to 70KG because of hurting my arm. I managed to get to 80KG relatively comfortably (with only the 80KG rep feeling difficult) but then I failed at 85... not bad under the circumstances! Graeme came up and lifted the bar for me as I put the cage bars at my partial deadlift height, however on my first attempt at 95KG (which I should really manage quite well) I couldn't even lift the bar. I took it as a sign to call it a day... I definitely need to get some wrist straps as the hooks I have are practically useless. I'm sure this will make all the difference. With deadlifts, it is always my grip that gives up first!

As for my foot... wow, I can't quite believe it, but it's really good... not 100%, but really good. I fully expected to wake up today in agony, but you'd think I hadn't ran at all yesterday. Maybe stopping as soon as I did was exactly the right thing to do. I'm starting to believe I actually AM going to get it sorted again... and I WON'T be ruining it in stupid shoes again!
