Yesterday our lights blew in our room, and when we went to reception to tell them about it, I happened to mention that I wished we had had a bath in our room. After a day of sunning it by the pool, we came back to a note apologising about the inconvenience with the electric and asking us to contact the duty manager about the bath.
This morning after breakfast we went to see the duty manager who got one of the reception staff to show us a gorgeous room with a bath, veranda and it's own little garden.. An upgrade for us with their compliments. They really can not do enough for you here, and if they suspect there is something you are not 100% satisfied with it is changed immediately. The new room is lush and I've just had a long needed bath!!!
Tomorrow we are off to collect our race numbers. It seems to have come around very quickly. I'm feeling quite positive about the whole thing (maybe because I wrote a list of positives for when I'm feeling anxious...it's the first time I've ever done this and it seems to work). The weather here is lovely, but I have to admit it gets very cold on a morning and late afternoon. I brought a cardigan and for the first 2 or 3 days thought I'd wasted the case space with it, but it's coming in handy now.
And it seems Lonely Planet has said Bangalore is one of the "must see destinations" for 2012. It came 3rd, with London top spot and Muscat in second. So, looks like we beat everyone to it. I do like it here though, and I can't personally see what everyone moans about when they say how bad the poverty is in India... Although I suspect Bangalore is a little different to some of the major tourist spots in the country.
