As previously mentioned, I am trying to reduce my bodyfat percentage...all in the hope I will improve my power to weight ratio! Earlier this week I found I now weigh 9 stone 7. I haven't been this weight for well over a year, and I'm noticing a big difference in how I'm looking and how my training is going. This week I seem to have gone from strength to strength and have ran my fastest training runs and intervals. I still have a long way to go with intervals as I'm still not fast at them, but I am improving. The powerbreathe has now been done religiously for the last couple of weeks (I'd actually been doing it for a few days before I started to log it in with my other training sessions) and most days I feel like I haven't done any training after about half an hour of finishing the sessions. This month should also see me having my biggest mileage month for well over a year. I am always mindful of injuries however, and do my best to avoid them like the plague!
I've also learnt how to deal with my recent blister. It's amazing how putting the plaster in even slightly the wrong place can cause more problems on top of the original issue!
Today I ran along the beach banks with the intention of taking it easy, and I mostly did although I did accidentally speed up a bit in the middle. I'll be running alone this weekend as Graeme is working, so I have decided to drive about 16 miles away and run home. This week I am trying a 15:3 split to see how I get on. I'm sort of trying to stick to the 5:1 ratio in variables, but it just goes to show that you can't just go and copy somebody elses training. There's William who wins all sorts on a 3:1 split and I just couldn't do that. Hey, if you're gonna walk then my thinking is that you get a decent time to do it in! :-)
