A six pack

I always had a six pack, right up until the age of about 35 when after being married for around a year, drinking too much wine and while eating to contentment it disappeared under a layer of fat. It could always be felt, but rarely seen. People often say they don't know what you are moaning about when you say you have put weight on, but only you yourself know the true weight you should be... the weight where your clothes feel ok and you're not into your "fat" attire. Oh yes... us girls all have fat clothes and items we can only wear when we feel skinny enough!

So, on my quest to rid myself of that layer of fat before India (it's insulating you see... the more fat you have the harder it is to run in hotter weather) I have been very good with food. I haven't "dieted" as such, more trying to get my body to prefer the healthier choice. So, for the last 2 weeks there has been no alcohol and I have to say I haven't missed it at all. They say you should change one thing a week, so last week I decided to have no cappuccinos at work and I managed fine. By the end of the week I was looking forward to a cup of plain coffee or tea. I told my mam about this plan, and she said she would have next week without "Coffee Mate" in her coffee. I said if she does that, I will have only black coffee.

So, I went up to the gym to do my deadlifts this afternoon and decided to do straight leg style ones. I really pushed myself and it was while I was resting in between sets that I noticed my stomach and the most visible six pack that I have had for years. Excellent!
After the deadlifts I went into the sauna for 30 minutes. This is the first time I have gone in straight after exercise and I can't tell you how much harder it felt. By the end my heart rate was 138! Not bad for a quick sit down eh? I felt completely wiped out afterwards but it's all good!
