I'm at home on my own tonight as Graeme is off into town with his brother and their friends. It's lovely being able to do my own thing and have ownership of the remote control. It's been chick flicks and street dance films all afternoon. :-)
I got over my seriously bad run yesterday surprisingly well. I woke up today expecting to feel like a bag of aches and pains but felt totally fine. I went over to my mams house and we did her longest run to date... 2 miles. I was genuinely amazed at how much further her stints of running are getting, and the woman has pure determination. She breathlessly points and grunts at where she's trying to run to, and then I put a spanner in the works by getting her to run just a teeny bit further. We got back and she was exhausted but so over the moon, saying how much her calves were screaming... head thumping... couldn't breathe and felt sick, but just totally loves it. It's official. She's hooked! :-)
This afternoon I did a session of deadlifts which are also going well. I don't get as many DOMS these days which must mean I'm getting fitter, or stronger... or something! Afterwards I went into the sauna and did 18 minutes before putting my whole head inside for 5 minutes. I took a break for 1 and a half minutes by sticking my head back out and managed a further 2.5 minutes with my head inside. I had to get out totally after that as it felt unbearable.
I also got an email from Shaun today. Looks like I will not only be using the rebounder for warm ups before intervals, but he mentioned using it for cool downs which would add about an hour of cardio on each week and a 1 hour session fitted in somewhere as well. I also get to start doing partials for deadlifting and squats... I can't wait to try them!
