I'm chuffed... in fact, I'm beyond chuffed! Yesterday I did my intervals which were slower than normal (a 9.35mm pace with walking recoveries) but I think it's around 16 weeks since I last did them because of my injury. If anyone reads this who also has a neuroma, I'm glad to say there is light at the end of the tunnel!
Today I did my 45 minute run and only needed a 1 minute walk break at 35 minutes into the run, which was purely down to a lack of fitness up a third hill into the wind and horrible horrible rapeseed pollen that left my chest feeling like I had a tight band around it. I know this would have been alleviated with the use of my inhaler... which I FORGOT.... AGAIN! I need to stop doing that!
10 minutes after getting back home, I went into the sauna and suffered for 17 minutes before I simply couldn't take it anymore and had to get out. The sauna is so much harder when you are already sweating from a workout!
I then had around an hour of a break where I ate a tuna salad and then I went up to do my squats. I did a speed session with 7 sets which had my inner thighs aching incredibly by the end. I think I will sleep well tonight.
I also got an email from Shaun who sent me a link for a little trampoline/rebounder and said did I have one or would I be prepared to get one. Well, he picked the right time to ask... it's pay day tomorrow. :-) I think this has something to do with a comment I made about not being able to do skipping for the foreseeable future... I'm thinking they may have found a way around it.
So, tomorrow is weights and measurements day. I have avoided doing this over the past few weeks as I just knew the lack of training would put the figures at something I did not want to see. It's time to put that aside now, and I shall sheepishly report the results tomorrow. I'm almost scared to do it!
