*Bump*

That was me "grounding" myself.
I asked William about my trainers/trail shoes for the race on Saturday, and he said to wear whatever I felt most comfortable in, because, after all, the result of this was not important and was purely a training run. If I encounter sections of mud I am to slow down and walk through it to stop myself from slipping.

Somewhere along the line I have forgotten this is a training run and purely for experience. I've been thinking of it a little competitively in that I have been wondering if I could get it done in under 6 hours. This is something I need to put aside for now, although completing my first ultra will still be a huge achievement, irrelevant of the time it takes!

The foot is absolutely no different today, and there is a part of me that is dreading Friday morning in case I'm told by the podiatrist not to run it. I'll be absolutely gutted!
