Tonight I went for a run and couldn't believe how much my shins were aching. They literally ached for the whole of the run. It made me realise that I probably did more with the deep water running yesterday than I originally thought.
My chest was great today, and I had fairly even splits averaging 9.41mm pace.
I had an email from Shaun about doing a max test with squats tonight. I was to do 10 reps at a low weight to warm up and then try to do as little as possible by way of a build up to my 1RM (One rep max). This would ensure I was not fatigued too much by doing too many at too low a weight.
So, I began with 15KG for 10 reps as a warm up, and then jumped straight up to 45KG for my first set of 3 reps. I found these really easy, and so went straight up to 65KG... then 75... and that's when it started to feel hard. I think I had my first leg wobble at this weight. I then managed a couple of reps at 80KG, however when I went up to 85KG despite trying and trying, after 3 reps I was still not able to lower the weight lower than 7 or 8 inches. I suppose this is classed as a fail at that weight!
I gave myself a bit of a break and tried again, only to find I couldn't even lift the bar off the 2 hooks of the power cage. So, that's me done for today... and boy do I feel done in! My quads feel fine, I just feel generally shaky all over!
