Very unfit

Tonights intervals were absolutely terrible.
I began with my 10 minutes barefoot warm up, and my feet were aching so much that I had to walk the last 1 and a half minutes.

The first interval (done at 9mm) was nasty but doable, and although I was dying by the end of the ten minutes, the prospect of a full 5 minute walk break made me feel much better. The second two intervals got slower, more knackering and more painful... I even had to hold onto the handrails on the treadmill now and again to stop myself from giving up. Although they were horrible and not executed well at all, I stuck with it and got it done. I really really hope next week is better!!!

I got home to an email from William with a link to a race in March... an ultra... 29.3 miles. I read on... trail, take a compass and lots of wet weather clothing. My first reaction was full on panic... it's only 7 and a half weeks away! After a rubbish session where I feel most unfit, reading this made me feel very nervous. But looking back on the last time I got back into training after a few weeks off, I managed to get back fit within a couple of weeks so I'm sure it won't take me long to get back in the saddle (or so to speak)!

So, I have agreed to it. Graeme (of course) has agreed to do it too. So... I now have to learn to run/walk properly! Training in earnest starts now!
