Frustration

I've just tried to talk Graeme into going to the spa with me. I really want to run, and although my first set of intervals after a few weeks off is not something I'm dying to do, it's something I know I need to do to get myself back into the stride of things as soon as possible. He won't go however, and unfortunately I daren't attempt the drive on my own as it's a good 20 minutes away and there's a lot of very icy roads. Yesterday I was driving and he had to take over because I got the car stuck on snow and ice and couldn't for the life of me move it! I hate to admit it, but men are better at driving in these conditions... well, they're better than me at it! So, that's intervals out!

I looked outside at the paths and thought maybe a 30 minute run would be OK, however Graeme came back from walking the dog and said the paths are really lethal. It had rained last night and made everything slippy and icy! Unfortunately my Icebugs are due for delivery tomorrow... not today! Hmmmph! :-(

So, as a last resort, I HAVE managed to talk him into a walk this afternoon along the beach with the dog. I wore my XL vest on yesterdays walk, however I think I'll wear it again today seeing as though I'm not going to get much else done! I may even come home and do some core work this afternoon.

I'm ashamed to say that the 3 mile run in the snow the other day actually made me ache the next day... how bad is that? Mind you, it was hard work because it was all uneven frozen snow and it was pretty windy. I still feel very unfit though. Even the lighter session of deadlifting (speed session with 35KG) felt so tiring. My heart was going 20 to the dozen while I was doing it. I was pretty achy yesterday (and today) but I've been a lot worse I suppose (and with less weight). The first time I did 3 sets at 20KG I could barely move for a week!

So, I'm feeling very frustrated by the weather. I remember last year being all geared up for a fortnight of training (whenever I wanted to) because I was off work for Christmas and it all got ruined due to the snow... turns out this year, so far, has been exactly the same. HURRY UP AND GET DELIVERED ICEBUGS.... I need you!

I've also started calorie counting... just to make sure I'm not eating more than I should. I went over by 146 calories yesterday (my first day... I'd not thought much about it until I counted everything up) so today will be better because I know what I'm aiming for. The app I'm using for it works everything out in KG, so my weight (looks ashamed) is currently 63KG, and my aim is to be 57KG by Basel. EASY! :-)
