Those two words for a blonde is like a contradiction in terms, however, I've had a sensible weekend. I did my run of 1 hour (far too fast again... around 10 - 12 seconds a mile too fast) on Saturday, and on Saturday night at around 8.45pm I all of a sudden felt a bit rubbishy. My nose was streaming and I felt like the worst cold ever had hit me from absolutely nowhere. Having a lemsip with honey and 2 ibuprofen I immediately went to bed and slept like the proverbial log! In fact, I slept so well, that when I woke up in the morning and saw Graeme was in bed I couldn't work out how he was there, as I had never heard a peep whatsoever, which is unusual for a light sleeper like me.
So, yesterday, I felt absolutely fine... it was like a mini tornado that had flew in, caused minor damage and flitted back out again. So..... do I run? Is the infestation still there waiting to pounce, and would it have a nasty comeback or would it be fine if I run? I weighed up the odds... Run 30 minutes = possibly be hit again by the cold which may not have exited the building fully, or don't run 30 minutes as I have another two 30 minute runs before training is over for Florence???... will a 30 minute run today change the impending outcome on the day? Unlikely. I didn't run!
So, I'm fine today and will definitely be doing my 30 minutes tonight and tomorrow and then that's it... training over! I don't quite have my head ready for Florence yet. Life has just been more manic than I've experienced for a long time. Firstly I was so worried about the cat, now I'm thinking about the puppy... there's Christmas around the corner I'm nowhere near ready for, work is a bit stressy....
I think I will probably be on the plane before I think too much about what lies ahead.
