Out of sorts

Well, I've had to swim instead of run because of my foot (I'm sure it's OK now though, so it's been worth it), and yesterday as I was on the way home from the spa I started to sniff and sneeze... Oh no! A cold.
I came home and immediately had vitamin C and paracetamol, and by 8.45pm I felt so rubbish I ended up going to bed. Probably the best thing, as I felt so much better this morning after sweating it out all night. I still don't feel 100%, however I'm almost certain it has been zapped in its tracks before getting chance to fully take hold! Everyone around me appears to have a cold at the moment, I'm amazed I've kept it off for so long. I always think the food and supplements I take help a lot!

Work has been extremely boring this week, and the days seem to drag by. This afternoon I got home early and did the very exciting job of hoovering the stairs.... I'm so rock 'n roll!

I've eaten a lot today too... however it's all been mega healthy fresh stuff and as the saying goes "Feed a cold"... any excuse eh?
I've stopped weighing myself. My clothes feel fine (they aren't getting tighter) however the last few times I've stepped on the scales my weight seems to be going up again. Looking in the mirror at the spa (they have horrible down lighting) I look terrible... huge legs, and Graeme said, "Bloody Hell" when I stretched up for something and he saw how muscly my calves have got. He thinks they look great (bless him). I'm not overly concerned at what my body looks like, I'm more bothered about my clothes fitting me... they do... so that's it for scales. I won't be able to tell you how much I weigh in future, because I won't know!

We're going to see our new puppy tomorrow and I'm really excited. It's going to be amazing when I can finally get out running with him. I keep getting emails from Canix about races going on... I couldn't enter him until he's a year old though. It's also thrown up an interesting and painstakingly awkward situation... what trail shoes will I wear to run with him? I've tried numerous ones that haven't come up to scratch, but have now found a really good pair after a bit of research. New Balance do a new trail shoe... I think it's called the 745.. or something like that. Like my Kinsei's they have a very mild stability, and they look like a running shoe. The only thing they aren't great on is wet rock (which isn't going to be a major problem for me) so I think they are the next ones I will be trying out. Running through Castle Eden Dene will not only be fab for our dog, but it will make me even fitter... it's a tough bit of trail.

So, GER in a couple of days! I got my number yesterday. I'm really looking forward to it. Graeme text me earlier to say his calf is killing and he hopes he doesn't have to pull out of it. I'm sure he'll be fine though. We're waiting to find out whether or not he has to work on Saturday. I hope not, as we won't get down to Boston until about 8.30pm... what a pain!

I was most pleased to see that Basel has put the date for 2011's race on the website, also saying further details will be available soon. I think this is going to be fantastic, and a wonderful achievement when it's done!
I've been reading a friends race report on a 3 day event she has just done... amazing! I can't imagine how sore her feet must be right now though!
