It's all Terrys' fault!

Today I did the Woodhall Spa 10K and was pretty disgusted with myself. I didn't do very well at all, and didn't exactly rip up the tarmac because I was so fast!
And it's all Terrys' fault.. oh, yes it is! Him and Kerry were the most amazing hosts last night (as usual)... the wine was flowing, the champagne was flowing... then flowed liqueurs and port... I drank more than I have for 4 or 5 years. But that didn't make me slow today...as I said... that's Terrys' fault. He told us this story about when he was moving house and what occurred with a neighbour and a fish. He was laughing so much he could barely tell the story and I was doubled over it was so funny. So, my core was shot today which stopped me running a PB.

Oh, OK... that's just rubbish. Here's the real reasons...I couldn't be bothered and very quickly gave up and began walking. I felt pretty awful and my face was like beetroot (everyone commented on it, so it must have been bad), I haven't trained for a 10K so found trying to be speedy almost impossible. It really shocked me how bad I have got in a year and I have a distinct lack of confidence.

Doing my new training programme really is going to be a shock and probably sheer pain until I adjust to a new way.

  1. It was a fabulous weekend - and you have to admit - well worth the pain of a 10k!
