Grateful for what you have!

I came home from work today, and as I'm still waiting for my training programme to be finished off , I decided to apply some of the principles outlined in my AAA+ Analysis...one of them being that I should do a stretching routine on a non running day, so I don't rush through the stretches. So, that's what I did.
I then had my tea, and as Graeme was into the football, I took myself off to the spa on my own. My hamstrings have felt a bit achy since Saturdays run (my hamstrings are definitely a weak spot) so I thought I'd have a sauna and go in the plunge pool to try and ease them off.

I got there and managed 12 minutes in the sauna before feeling light headed and realised I had to get out, and then I went in the plunge pool for about 2 minutes (my feet became so painfully cold which was what made me get out so quickly). As I sat on the lounger afterwards, my legs were literally throbbing.

I then did 400 metres in the pool, taking a very slow 14 minutes... however this is double the distance of Friday, and I wasn't really that tired by the end of it either, which is encouraging. My hamstrings are now feeling really good too.

A man was there with his disabled son (they were staying in the hotel, therefore get to use the spa as part of their stay), and it was very humbling to see the sons' face light up as he was pushed through water jets and fountains. Sometimes being fit and able to do so many things is taken for granted, and something like this makes you so grateful for what you have.
