I went to circuits today and was literally beasted.
The girl doing the class today was a bit of a Sargent Major (I mean that in a good way... I think!)
The exercises were:-
Shadow boxing, bent over row, knee highs, dips, sprinting on the spot, chest press, jumping burpees, squat swing, hill climbing and cross overs.
We went through the first set doing each exercise for 30 seconds. The second set was an absolute killer... 1 minute 10 seconds on each exercise with 10 seconds recovery between exercises. The third set was 45 seconds on each station with no reovery time and a final "easier" set of 30 seconds to cool down.
I was completely knackered by the end, but I did give it my all (unlike last week when I was a bit reserved and held back a bit). Even as I'm typing this, it is an effort to move my arms as they are hurting so much.
I went to do some deadlifts afterwards but only managed 1 set of 10 at 15KG. That was supposed to be my warm up, but my legs were like jelly and I was unable to do any. I'm sure this will get easier as time goes on though.
So, thank heavens for BBQ's and relaxing afternoons. Graeme didn't go to circuits today as he was waiting in for his new iPhone to be delivered, so when I got back everything was all done and I have nothing at all to do. Lovely!
Well done for keeping it up. M just said...she does ALL that training and STILL has time to write a blog! Yes, maybe I shouldn't be parked on the settee tonight with a Mr Kipling apple pie!
ReplyDeleteAre you seeing/feeling any results yet, or is it too early to say? Obviously you're feeling the pain :-( but are you feeling the muscles getting stronger?
Not yet... I keep breathing in deeply to see if I get that "fitness boost day"... some would probably call it a breakthrough day. It's not happening yet.
ReplyDeleteI had apple pie and clotted cream ice cream yesterday... it was lush!
