5 Days to go...

...to Windermere!!!
Today I did a 3 mile run. I didn't want to go. I've had 2 terrible nights sleep and I don't feel myself really. The run was awful. My HR was far too high for such a slow pace and when I got back I felt like I'd ran much further. I got straight in the bath and Graeme made me some tea. I had some cannelloni with baby potatoes and salad. I was grateful for the fact he had done herb salad, as the stack of flat leaf parsley will give me an iron boost... I did feel so much better after eating. I'm still really aching from the circuits I did on Sunday too... my stomach hurts like hell and my triceps aren't much better.

Then I read Davids' blog about the 5th marathon at Windermere today. He says it's a "Bitch of a course" and he stuck to his plan of walking the 2 or 3 big hills. It reminded me how hard I will find Sunday, but it's going to be fantastic training. I really want to step up my running by doing hillier stuff and possibly trail stuff too, so this will be a good foot up. There's no two ways about it... I WILL be walking some of Sundays marathon, so I will have to work out a good strategy to get me through.

After todays effort, I've decided to rest up until Sunday. I'm thinking it can only do me good. At the end of the day, I've ran a marathon in training (sort of) for this, so I think a few days off will make me stronger as I relax and carb load. I think if I hadn't had my cold post VLM, I would have handled the last couple of weeks better, but life isn't always ideal is it?

I've finally got used to the Beema too... I now no longer stall it at every traffic light and I'm learning what the onboard computer can do. I have to admit, I really like it and glad it's the car I decided to get.

And apparently David Cameron is Prime Minister. My boss assures me that he is the best one to be in No. 10 as far as our job is concerned, as he intends to privatise how hearing aids are fitted. We'll see I suppose! Good news for Graeme is it now looks like he has another month at work and then there's a possibility of another big job afterwards. Fingers crossed!

I asked my brother today (on Facebook) to do the Paras 10 with me... I got the answer "NO WAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY". Looks like I'm on my own there then!
