16 down.... 48 to go!

Another 8 miles done today. My day at work was so boringly quiet that I was itching to get home and go for a run. Unfortunately, I felt a bit tired... which comes from doing hardly anything all day!
I decided to stick with the plan of intervals, and if I became too tired I'd just do less in the way of speed and have more recoveries. So, I ran a 1 mile warm up and felt really good, (I could have kept that pace for the whole run quite easily). I did 1 mile intervals with half mile recoveries until I'd done 3 lots, and then I slowed it down and had a chilled out meander home.

I get stacks of cars and vans bipping at me. I always thought it was people I knew...after all, why would they be honking their horn at a sweaty knackered luminous yellow coated ill looking woman! However, I noticed today that they are all very random blokes with nowt better to do with their time.

So, mid week and I'm all pasta'd up ready for tomorrows 12 mile run. I'm going to do it really slowly and chilled out and enjoy it. Then, I have a rest day booked in for Thursday.
At the weekend I'm doing the 22 mile run from South Shields. God it's hilly, and it seems such a long way but I'm ready for it. Graeme and Paul are meeting me at the 18 miles to go point, so it will be good to have company and do a route that I haven't done for 7 months... that should relieve the boredom. We now just have to teach Paul a bit of running etiquette and show him you really don't need to fling your elbows around and knock everyone out. ;-)
