Last night I did a short half hour run/walk choosing the 3:3 option and it actually felt easy. Hallelujah!!! I haven't ran further than 7 miles for a lot of weeks... maybe 4 or 5 weeks and now I'm more or less putting a '0' in front of that 7 for Saturday. Am I worried? Of course I am!
I have lots of fat based foods to eat, including almond butter (100g is only 6.5g of carbs but 55g of fat), spreadable coconut oil, fried tofu, olive oil with tomato and basil soup (with extra olive oil) and some Marmite!!! What else could a girl need? Graeme says I barely eat during an ultra anyway, so this is just barely eating in a different sort of way (although my calorie intake should be much much higher this way and is the reason I'm putting myself through this).
I haven't even got one bit of kit ready yet. I'm seeing people with photos on Facebook all organised with everything laid out lovely and neatly and it has shamed me into thinking I should sort mine out tonight. For a very organised person I'm not quite in the zone yet. I have printed out last years results and splits so it will give me an idea of how I'm going compared to 2013. If I can keep myself uninjured maybe I'll be OK.
