I was trying to continue with having no fuel during the run (although I had an emergency gel in my pack just in case I needed it) to encourage burning fat for fuel and I managed without the gel, although the last 3 miles felt very tough. Outside of the 3:3 run/walk I had no negative walk breaks which I was delighted with as this is only my second week of training. I also had no calf cramps (which is a first) although my foot is feeling the effects. This is not something I'm concerned about however as I was sort of expecting it, and I know how far to push it during training now.
So, I'm very happy and even happier I now have the rest of today and all of tomorrow with no training. I think it will be an early night as the muscles in my chest are very achy after trying to breathe in the wind yesterday and today and my shoulders and forearms (especially my right side) have been really sore since deadlifts on Friday night. I'm just going to eat and sleep for as long as I can get away with it!
