Wide awake

I dunno... blogs are like buses for me... none for ages then two come at once!
I'm wide awake. I can't sleep for a couple of reasons... firstly, Graeme has an awful cold and feels ill (he's been like this for 4 days now and hasn't even gone to work which is so unlike him) and I am fighting to keep it away from me. I've lived on paracetamol and vitamin C rich foods since he came down with it, but I've had a lingering crappy feeling for 2 days now accompanied by a sore throat! I'm hoping this is as bad as it gets. I'm always better with colds than Graeme and quite often don't get half of the colds that he encounters, but I've felt bad enough today that I felt the need to take a day off training. BOO!!! When I got in from work and slept on the sofa (IN MY SUIT) for an hour, I knew something wasn't quite right! I hope I'm better tomorrow... PLEASE let me be better tomorrow!

The second thing keeping me awake is that I'm getting an audit of my training with changes to it. I'm quite excited by this. A change is as good as a rest isn't it? ... and let's face it, I've had enough rest lately anyway!
My mind is firmly fixed on my 100 miler and just how I'm going to get there with my training. I have some tough work ahead, especially as Graeme will be having his hip operation at some point. We don't know when that is, but when it happens I go from working full time and doing my training to working full time, training, sorting the dogs out, feeding everyone on my own, doing all of the housework on my own etc etc etc, as Graeme will be unable to stand unaided for 6 weeks. The operation could take place as late as April, which will screw a few things up if it's that late. I have the Born to Run Ultra at the end of March and a week later Connemara Ultra. I want to do them both. As a last resort I'll do Born to Run only, but I hope it doesn't come to that. If Graeme is still incapacitated by the 3rd of May it will not be a problem as I have my good friend Sebby and my brother in law Paul as support crew. Graeme says come what may he will be there, even if it's just to sit in the car, but we shall have to see about that!
